The Hornby Jazz Band presents their first cd
'LIVE AT THE THATCH'

Live at the ThatchPerched above the shore with the ocean lapping at its feet, the Thatch pub is the first sight to greet islanders and visitors as they arrive on Hornby Island. Every Friday evening Annie Siegel (piano, vocals) comes over from Denman Island to join Dana Inglis (bass), Darryl Bohn (drums), Tony Wilson (guitar) and Nick McGowan (tenor saxophone) at the Thatch to make music.Friday Night Jazz at the Thatch has been a fixture on the Hornby calendar since 1990. Over the years many talented guests have dropped by to join the session.

In July, 2006, Hornby Jazz Band released their first CD “Live at the Thatch” This CD grew out of a desire to capture the essence of Friday Night Jazz. For the musicians, it was a chance to showcase a special musical relationship between friends who have played together for over 15 years. With guests: Rob Weaver, (piano - track 3); Marc Atkinson (guitar - track 5) and Bob Grant (trumpet - track 5).
